Future Visions Youth Development, Inc. Newsletter 3/7/11

From our FVYD Organization,

It is with deepest sympathy that we report the passing of Charles Stevens our Board Treasurer (2/19/11). Over the course of his tenure Charlie has instilled within this organization a sense of commitment to the cause for bringing our Future Vision Youth Development, Inc. (FVYD) program into all of our nation’s public schools. The FVYD struggles have been great toward meeting that goal. Through his support and actions he has aligned this organization with several sources and persons who were also committed to that goal. Currently that mission is targeted to the State of Maine with the “Maine Model in Learning Vision” Program as we move toward our first program in the Maine public school. This FVYD Board has suffered a great loss with his passing. The mission of Future Vision Youth Development will continue (in Charlie’s memory) to empower our focus to the task at hand- changing the lives of millions of academically-struggling youth. That change, moves the youth from an acceptance of being a failure in learning skills to instead actively having a more positive self-view with new possibilities that provide multiple pathways and choices including a path directed to college. Learning vision is that powerful and Charlie was that committed. We will continue on that mission….

Mission Statement
This organization is committed to bring equality to Education through the development of programs addressing a new vision both in the eyes of our youth and in the future that they see. Through this effort we will educate a nation with new vision-Learning Vision; bringing new awareness and possibilities into our nation’s public schools.

Sincerely, Deborah Miller FVYD
